Will I save a lot of money for my wedding...?
...if I don't decorate an already pretty church at all for the wedding (saves money and cleanup) and just keep it simple for the centerpieces at the reception? Any cheap ideas for centerpieces? I already know candles are cheap but candles are boring.
Also what about decorations for the head table? Do I have to decorate the buffet and cake table? I'm not very creative and I would just rather keep it simple, even if it does look a little boring.

Well, of course if you keep it simple you're going to save money. How much is relative to how much you'd spend otherwise. If you were thinking of doing big topiaries, etc. then of course you're going to save a lot of money by keeping it simple.
Point blank:
- flowers can be pretty darn expensive so limiting their use will save you $
- you can use your boquets to decorate the head table
- no need to decorate the buffet table, but you should maybe decorate the cake table - just something small
- google image non-floral centerpieces and you'll get plenty of ideas (fruit, gems, etc.)
