How do you handle old office lady, just few yesrs from retire. always arguing "Your Keyboard Pounds!",?
"You Talk So Lound, I canot concentrate...!" and finally to grouping up with other old ladies and creating complex office politics, making life a nightmare....!!!
Well, chances are - she is tired of hearing you typing to post on here all the time...
Your loud voice might not annoy her as much if it is work related things you are talking about - but if you are chatting on your cell with friends or something, then I can understand her problem.
Now - at the same time, I can understand how annoying working with old people can be. The last engineering firm I worked for had one of the fattest, oldest, nastiest women as a receptionist. She literally was still using a 386 computer with a monochrome (green) monitor (exactly what you want your clients seeing in your engineering office).
She tended to be fairly nice - but was extremely set in her ways. I'll never forget the first week I was working there. She would try to print out a report or something - and her printer would spit out one sheet of paper, and jam. She would calmly clear the jam, print another sheet, and it would jam.
I watched her do this from my desk for a few minutes before asking her if she would like me to fix her printer (since on top of everything else I do, I'm an HP factory certified field service technicia). She was all like 'Oh no - it works just fine!'
I went ahead and let her waste her time clearing jams, until one day I finally got sick of watching her standing there (and listening to her going 'oh' and 'hmm' and 'oh dear' for fifteen minutes in order to print a 5 page document.
I waited until she was gone for lunch one day, and opened the printer up - an HP Laserjet 4 (circa 1990 - but actually one of the most hardcore printers in existence). I cleaned 10+ years of ink off the rollers, and voila, it worked perfectly! No jams at all.
I waited until she came back in later, and sent a document to the printer. She hobbled over to it - ready to go through her little paper-jam ritual, when it 'magically' spit out the entire document.
She immediately looked back over into my office and said 'what did you do to it?' in a rather disconcerted tone of voice. I said 'I cleaned it'.
Rather than thanking me for fixing it - she flips out. Apparently she liked wasting time clearing paper jams all day long.
I never was able to figure out what her problem was (early onset dementia was my first guess).
Good luck - my best advice is to ignore them, they are old, bitter, and most likely not nearly as effective as you are at your job (which is why you have spare time to post on here!)
