Queen sheet set does not fit on queen pillowtop mattress. What should I do?
We bought these extra deep queen sheets for our new pillowtop mattress. We can get 3 corners on and then the 4th corner has to be pulled soo tightly that it seems the sheet will rip any second -- and it still will not cover the 3rd corner. We were thinking of buying a king fitted sheet instead but I'm nervous that it'll be way too big and slide everywhere.
Does anyone else have this problem? Know of any solutions?
I'd return the set if you can, and then buy a new set at a bedding store.
Deep pocket sheets do come in different sizes ~ something I didn't know until we bought a new mattress several years ago. The clerk told us that most regular sheets are just for standard size mattresses, and that there are a couple of other sizes for extra deeps and super deeps. The pocket depth is usually noted somewhere on the outside of the package, and should be referred to when selecting sheets for your bed. Before heading out for replacement sheets, take a measurement of the depth of your pillowtop mattress and then ask a store clerk to point you in the direct of the ultra deep pocketed sheets for your mattress.
