Why do people take out excessive student loans to get a degree that isn't marketable?
If u go into debt 60k for a Ba in art u probably won't be able to pay it off and afford rent! College graduates aren't seeing spectacular salaries anymore! You are LUCKY to get 35-55k! If your in healthcare though that can be much higher! I have seen basket weaving majors bury themselves in loans though!
Do they do it out of ignorance of finances? OR
Do they just not care they are going to live poor for 10 years or more?
I think it boils down to: If you love what you're doing, and you have a good plan on what you want to do with it to support yourself...go ahead.
I think those who take out huge loans are not really sure what they want to do, and when they graduate...it's too late!
